Poem for K-Mo

Created by Tracey Young 9 years ago
Although not a poet I have attempted this rhyme To show how much we loved Kate, our ray of sunshine So now this poem will properly start About a friend and colleague so close to our hearts A co-inventor of the ‘Robert Leader’ cocktail drink K-Mo was a super HeRO and our London based Twink In the workplace she was our social media guru Advertise on Twitter? Kate will know what to do! To ‘Walk Like an Egyptian’ we all strike a pose Because when the Twinks have a party everyone goes Foodies the Twinks most certainly are not Pizza and garlic bread, that’s about your lot The communal salad was passed round and K-Mo tucked in My concern over this caused everyone to grin ‘Twinkettes on Tour’ off to Saaaffend On the train after work with such good friends Dinner in the garden cooked by my Mum A trip down Southend Pier, we know how to have fun On the pier we had to pay, which made Jo moan So off to a nightclub wearing our straws as microphones Urinals in Southend High Street didn’t hold much charm And nor did the Travelodge fire alarm Stood in the street in only our PJs Kate’s frilly little number had us laughing for days Kate’s perfect match she found in her Steve She was so very happy, more than you could believe From the snoggers-rash we knew she’d been kissed And it wasn’t long until they decided to go and get hitched We loved her smile, her laugh and what’s more We loved her zest for life and even her snore Fancy dress, karaoke and our cry of Goooooo Twinkettes We raise a glass to our Christmas Angel Barbie who we will never forget Dearest K-Mo what else can we possibly say? We can tell you we will love you, forever and a day How do we say goodbye to such a dear friend? By saying this: We will remember you Kate, always, until the end Written with love by Tracey Young One of Kate's fellow HeRO's for 5 years at Blind Veterans UK
